About Savonlinna Railway Station

The central railway station in Savonlinna was permanently closed in 2012 due to national railway works in Finland. As a replacement, a smaller open-air station was opened in Kauppatori and is one of the termini along the Savonlinna-Parikkala route. Upon arrival at the Savonlinna railway station, you will notice only one side platform and a nearby ticket vending machine. By the way, the railway platform is raised and offers accessible entry onto low-floor trains.
